Estudios actuales sobre aculturación y salud mental en inmigrantes: revisión y perspectivas

La inmigración es un fenómeno complejo, que implica un proceso de aculturación entre los inmigrantes y la población receptora con consecuentes cambios en los sujetos implicados. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión bibliográfi ca disponible sobre la conceptualización de aculturación como constructo diferenciado del concepto de asimilación; los modelos de aculturación que hasta el momento han elaborado los diferentes autores; las investigaciones más recientes referentes a la interacción entre salud mental y aculturación, para finalmente exponer una propuesta de MIP GROUP que permita conceptualizar esta relación.
